Full Synopsis of Presentation:

Adult day programs are a great option for care, but many families don’t know they exist. In this session, you will learn about the benefits of adult day programs and caregiver support groups. An adult day center provides a secure daytime environment for adults with cognitive/physical impairments. Programs like Page Robbins offer social stimulation, peer interaction, recreational activities, and nutritious meals. Through participation in a day program, adults with Alzheimer’ disease, vascular dementia, Parkinson’s, stroke-related memory loss and mild cognitive impairment are able to continue living with their family in the comfort and familiarity of home while receiving the care and attention they need during the day. Caregivers can work or use the time for much needed respite. Caregivers also benefit from being a part of a supportive community.

Speakers: Herbie Krisle & Katie Earheart-Brown, Page Robbins Adult Day Center

Herbie Krisle

  • Herbert Ann “Herbie” Krisle became the Executive Director of Page Robbins Adult Day Center in Collierville in 2005. Having been a caregiver for her mother who suffered from vascular dementia and Alzheimer’s disease for 10 years, she is keenly aware of the stress caregivers feel. Herbie’s work at Page Robbins brings her great joy; she serves an incredible board of directors and leads a staff with minimal employee turnover allowing each staff member to know their role and do it well, providing exceptional care. Prior to her work with Page Robbins, Herbie spent 11 years at the MidSouth Food Bank, 11 years with Malone and Hyde/Fleming Wholesale Grocers and 5 years with the University of Tennessee Agricultural Extension Service as a 4-H Club Agent. Herbie is extremely engaged in the Collierville community, where she’s lived for 34 years.  She is an active member of the Collierville Rotary Club and is a Paul Harris Fellow, Collierville and Germantown Chambers of Commerce and the Collierville United Methodist Church where she is a Stephen Minister and sings in the Chancel Choir.  She has also enjoyed singing with the Memphis Symphony Chorus in the past and is a certified barbeque judge! She has one daughter, Meg who is a former law enforcement officer and is serving as a Major in the Mississippi Army National Guard, currently on full time orders.

Katie Earheart-Brown

  • Katie Earheart-Brown is the Development and Communications Director at Page Robbins Adult Day Center. She joined the Page Robbins team in 2013, two weeks after graduating from Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas. She is a Memphis native and loves serving her community.  Katie has been affected by memory loss through close family members’ battles with dementia and finds great joy in helping the clients and caregivers at Page Robbins have wonderful days. She is the Communications Chair and Secretary for the Memphis Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. Katie is married to Paul, and they have the cutest baby in the whole world (it’s official!), Caroline, who was born December 2022.
